STATEMENT
What does it mean to be alive? I find that words are often ineffective in answering this question. Using paint and canvas I try to portray some sense of what it means to be alive. In my landscapes I try to express a little of the wonder in the world around us. On canvas and paper I try to capture snapshots of human experiences and emotions. I often find myself focusing on the contrast between light and shadow; neither of which can exist without the other.
